Inside Jet Black Studio, 2025
Jet Black is the world I build through drawing and painting, a space where symbolism and emotion live in harmony. My work explores moments of transformation, resilience, and growth that define what it means to be human.
After years spent developing worlds for others in the entertainment industry, it felt like the right time to create one for myself. Transitioning from making art for fantastical worlds to the very real worlds inside of us felt like a natural progression. Now, I bring years of storytelling into my own art.
My work is about the connection between the imagined world that often exists in our thoughts and the real world that we experience. I’m interested in the quiet moments in which we find clarity, and executing those images using inspiration and techniques I’ve developed over the course of my life. Each piece begins as a faint feeling, something waiting to be made real.
Alongside my studio work, I run Dark Companion, a portrait series capturing the quiet nobility of animals. I also write The Red Fade, a publication that opens my process, from sketches and paintings to thoughts on creativity and myth.
I seek to create images that feel timeless, human, and alive, and to share that world with those who see themselves in it.
